ZANZIBAR’S Chuoni FC will arrive in Harare this afternoon and fly to Bulawayo for their Confederation of African Football (Caf) Confederation Cup first leg preliminary round tie against How Mine at Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday.

Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela yesterday confirmed the itinerary of the little known Zanzibari side.

“This serves to inform you that Chuoni FC will arrive in Harare on February 6, 2014 at 1500hrs aboard the Ethiopian Airways with a delegation of 18 players and seven officials,” Gwesela said.

He said the team will then fly to Bulawayo as Caf does not allow teams to travel by road for more than 300km.

Gwesela said the Zanzibaris would probably connect to Bulawayo on the same day.

How Mine are in camp at Falcon College in Esigodini in preparation for their first ever match in the continental competitions.

They trained at Luveve Stadium yesterday and would be travelling back to Esigodini after their training session.

The Philani Ncube-coached side will be making their debut in the Confederation Cup after finishing as runners up to Highlanders in last year’s Mbada Diamonds Cup final. They lost 3-0 to Highlanders, who cannot take part in the Caf inter-club competitions as they are serving a three-year ban.
