One of them is Gift Nyanuteya popularly known as Gift the Cracker who seems to have started New Year on a good note.

The 26-year-old comedian, who started performing last year on various open mic platforms, will tonight have his first professional performance alongside Doc Vikela and Simba the Comic King at Book Café in Harare. Gift the Cracker was so excited to have made it this far following a year of non-stop hard work in 2013.

Tonight will also see the first official Simuka Comedy night of 2014 where the comedians will give a humorous recap of 2013 events.

“Tonight I am looking forward to making a mark as we focus on 2014 possibilities  in politics, church, gender, race and major highlights of the issues that made news last year,” the comedian said.

Gift said he was very appreciative of Doc Vikela and Carl Joshua Ncube, both accomplished comedians who encouraged him to realise his major strength of impersonating well-known personalities.

“I remember that on my first performance I managed to get one big laugh towards the end of the show which inspired me to improve,” he said..
