Dubbed Intimacy with Selmor, the show would apparently seek to cement the artiste’s position on the market as one of the most consistent female musicians. Selmor said this would be a special show for her.

“This idea came about when I realised that a lot of fans are interested in knowing how a particular song came about so I thought it would be great if I brought them into the Selmor World,” she said.

With four albums to her name and 12 years’ experience, Selmor has often found herself viewed under the shadow of her father Oliver Mtukudzi, but her resilience has kept her going.

Selmor has seen herself at many festivals in the country captivating audiences with her energetic performances. It was her album Expressions, released last year, which came as a great leap forward, earning her a distribution deal in South Africa.

The show tonight also comes on the back of her collaboration with Mathias Mhere on a track titled Ndinochengetwa naMwari which was released last week. Selmor said the collaboration came about as confirmation of her status as a Christian.

“I have listened a lot to my brother, Mathias’ music and I love it so I thought it would be great if we collaborated on one of my songs. So I approached him and he was willing to come on board,” she said.

Ndinochengetwa naMwari comes off Expressions.
