FORMER Warriors left back Qadr Amin is back at FC Platinum after an injury that sidelined him for the 2013 Premier Soccer League

FORMER Warriors left back Qadr Amin is back at FC Platinum after an injury that sidelined him for the 2013 Premier Soccer League and saw him being de-registered in July by the Zvishavane-based side.

BY SPORTS REPORTER

The recently wedded Amin was part of the Warriors squad that took part in the second edition of the African Nations Championships (Chan) finals in Sudan in 2011 and was slowly becoming an integral part of the senior national team.

During the same year, he attended and passed trials at South African Orlando Pirates and was due to sign a contract in June, but that deal failed to materialise.

In 2012, he was part of the squad that bagged the Bob’88 Super Cup and the Independence Trophy when he scored a stunning equaliser against Motor Action which led to a penalty shootout. Platinum won the final.

But that was to mark the end of his playing days as he finished 2013 in the rehabilitation room before being re-registered this year.

Yesterday, Platinum left for the pre-season camp in Kariba with their four new signings in Wisdom Mutasa, Steven Sibanda, James Marufu and Tarisai Rukanda. Of particular interest in the team is Allan Gahadzikwa, who has spent the last two seasons in the doldrums despite his immense talent.

He will be looking to resuscitate his flagging career.

Joel Ngodzo and Charles Sibanda have left Platinum with the former starting negotiations with Highlanders in Bulawayo yesterday.
