Chipembere Queens bounced back into the women’s topflight league after winning all their matches in the Zifa Women Central Region League last season.

The Gweru-based outfit won the sole promotional ticket with four matches to go before end of the season.

Chipembere Queens secretary, Brightwell Kadenge told NewsDay Sport that the trials which started on Monday will run up tomorrow as the club seeks to identify new players to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

“We began our trials on Monday as we are trying to identify new players. So far the response has not been that good, but we are optimistic that more players will turn up as the week progresses.

“The trials end on Sunday when the coaches will make final assessment of the players before making recommendations to the executive,” he said.

In their quest to build a formidable side Chipembere Queens have also secured the services of Malawian international striker, Linda Kasenda from Strikers FC who are part of Malawi’s topflight women football league.

Kadenge expressed hope that Kasenda will add value to the team with her wealth of experience.

Chipembere Quees also boast having Mighty Warriors striker, Tsitsi Mairos, goalkeeper Barbra Manyanga and chief striker Petronella Maribha in their ranks.

Maribha scooped the region’s Golden Boot after a 30 goal haul.
