The former Seke High 2 student said she believes she was born a musician but acting fell in her way.

“I have decided to pursue my musical dream seriously with the release of my eight track album titled Chipo Chamakandipa,” Chihuri said.

“As I was growing up my passion was music but I ended up acting by chance after a friend’s advice.”

A former backing vocalist for gospel music granddad Machanic Manyeruke’s band, Chihuri is due to release her debut album before month end.

She said the album is in its last stages before release and will carry tracks including Bvunzai Mwari, Mweya Mutsvene, Kuronga KwaMwari and Mutikomborere.

She has featured in productions that include Vamwe Vanhu in 2011 where she played Mai Shinda, Landlord Nemaroja as Kelly in 2012 and later Mhindupindu in 2013.

She urged fellow musicians to be brave if they wanted to try music.

“It is not rosy, but one has to be determined,” she said.
