Personal development is a key aspect for anyone who desires to succeed in life. Conversely, many people fail in many endeavours simply because they would not have taken time to personally develop themselves.

It is against this backdrop that Marara, a lawyer by profession, although known primarily as a motivational speaker, has published a book called Personal Development Toolkit, which is a must have for anyone who wants to move up the ladder in life.

In the book, Marara takes time to address the different areas that need to be looked into as one moves from one step to the next in the personal development journey.

These include transforming your life, striving for excellence, having the right relationships, exploiting opportunities that come your way, evaluating your progress and transforming your thinking.

In his foreword to the book, Kingdom Bank founder and Success Motivation Institute (Africa) executive chairman Nigel Chanakira, writes Marara’s name on the list of Zimbabwe’s motivation gurus that include Milton Kamwendo, Douglas Mamvura, Rabison Shumba and Jonah Mungoshi.

“Having had the opportunity to read some of his work, I can confirm that Marara, in this installment, strikes the right notes and codes. He typically combines the best of two worlds: on the one hand, the eternal wisdom of the Bible and, on the other, the enduring testimonies of some other fascinating personalities,” writes Chamakira.

The packaging of the book itself is top–class, making the book attractive and an enjoyable read at the same time.

Marara adds to the growing genre of home–grown motivational literature, for many years dominated by books authored by foreigners. But here is an author who knows his market and appreciates the heartbeat of the people for whom he is writing.
