TENDAI Manatsa and Afro-jazz sensation Tracy “Pah Chihera” Mbirimi thrilled the audience after putting up a sterling performance at Harare’s leading joint Book Café on Tuesday night.

The show was Manatsa’s debut solo performance after he had taken a break to give his wife Selmor Mtukudzi a chance to promote her music. Pah Chihera, who is growing from strength to strength since she launched her career, performed as an opening act and did not disappoint.
The musician’s top notch drawer performance proved she is one of the promising female musicians destined for greater heights if she keeps focused.
Her stage performance was exceptional as she communicated well with the audience.
Pah Chihera took fans down memory lane, performing songs from different musicians like the late Simon Chimbetu, Andy Brown, Oliver Mtukudzi and Diamond Musica, among others.
She opened the show with the song Murume wangu as she went on to belt out Tuku’s song Chimusoro, Samatenga from the late Simon Chimbetu, among others songs before closing the show with the hit song Runonzi Rudo.
When the song was played, the musician invited on stage some partners among the crowd, who included Manatsa and Selmor to join her in dancing to the song.

Manatsa came on stage around 21:30hrs amid wild cheers from fans after Pah Chihera had electrified the atmosphere and got fans dancing throughout his performance.
The dreadlocked musician managed to keep the tempo high as the fans could be seen singing along and joining the musician in dancing. Speaking to NewsDay on the sidelines of the show, Manatsa said he was humbled and grateful with the level of loyalty shown by fans in support of his music career.
“Credit must go to the fans who have helped and stood with me in my career to achieve what I have today,” he said.
