Zahara returns to Harare

-

SOUTH AFRICAN songstress Zahara’s return to Harare on December 20 will be a trend-setting affair, organisers of the show have said.

Chris Musabayana of Ghetto Fabulous Entertainment said besides being one of the few foreigners to launch her Phendula album locally, the gig would be trendy.

The Loliwe singer performs alongside superstar Oliver Mtukudzi and rising diva Tariro neGitare (Tariro Ruzvidzo) at 7 Arts Theatre next Friday.

“Zahara has been here a number of times already, but this time it would be different,” Musabayana said.

“You will find that all three performers on the night use the acoustic guitar and that means the show is easier to theme.

“Many know Zahara from Loliwe, but this time she returns with a more slowed- down album which is already doing well on local radio.”

To add to Musabayana’s plans, the show will see the cheapest ticket selling for $30 rising to $50 for the next level and $100 for VIP.

Interestingly, the Zahara gig, that has been titled A Tale of 2 Cities; 2013 Curtain Call, is scheduled a day after yet another high-profile show coined 100% Local Content featuring Tuku’s daughter Selmor and Mokoomba.

Musabayana said, however, there were no fears of one show dampening the other.

“It is almost the same target audience, but I do not think there is anything to worry about because we have got a different edge in the theming,” Musabayana said.
