The gig — dubbed New Year’s Eve Zim Dancehall — is expected to reverberate in the venue to the sounds of dancehall — a genre which is believed to have surpassed other music types.

An array of artistes like Kinnah, Cello Culture, Ras Pompey, Freeman, Seh Calaz, Dadza D, Killer T and Guspy Warrior among others are expected to share the stage at the show.

The gig will also showcase talented female dancehall artistes Lady Squanda and Angel Pee.

DJ Gary B and Templeman aka The Godfather will also lead a troop of spinmasters on the turntables. Speaking to NewsDay, event co-ordinator Jackie Dzambasa said the show was meant to celebrate the end of the year and welcoming the new year 2014.

“We want to uplift and give a platform to our own young artistes who have emerged to become a force to reckon with as the year comes to an end,” he said.

Seh Calaz, born Tawanda Mumanyi, said he was well prepared for the show and ready to make the fans jump.

On the other hand, Killah T, who has suddenly risen to the top, is expected to ignite a jubilation mood among the fans as the year comes to an end with his famed Popopo gun sounds.

The Mbare-based musician has stolen the limelight with hit songs like Makarova Gunners and Tirikumhanya, among others.

The energetic Dadza D said he was coming fully-charged for the show promising a sterling performance.

Shinsoman, born Romeo Anthony, is expected to belt out some of his hit songs like Mawaya Waya, Ghetto Youths and Kukunakidza.
