This was revealed by the producer of the show Rufaro Kaseke last week, who said the arts and entertainment scene has seen a massive rise in excellence.

“Zimbabwean artistes and sportspersons have been excelling on major international platforms, but no one has been telling the story,” Kaseke said.

“We realised as storytellers that there is no one who can tell this story other than us the Zimbabwean storytellers.

“So we have packed vital information about our unsung heroes as a TV programme and we titled it 411.”

He said for 13 weeks they would feature within 30 minutes two film projects, two musicians, some regional entertainment news and lastly a “Did you know segment?” where they will feature “light bulb facts about our heroes”.

“We also realise the need to create local television content for our own people as well as international audiences, so we have identified several distribution channels for example MzansimagicSA, Africa Magic Nigeria and KlearTv UK through which we can expose those works primarily and entertain the audiences in the process,” Kaseke said.

“Since this is a celebration of Zimbabwean exploits we find it as a perfect moment to forge synergies with other art disciplines and find ways of complementing each other’s craft.”

411 will be hosted by Kaseke and Monica Chanda while Joe Njagu will be the director.

Kaseke said the magazine show is mainly targeted at marketing local personalities, who have made great exploits in their own spheres of influence.

Njagu said 411 is a celebration of Zimbabwean talent.

“We started this programme after realising the need to start celebrating ourselves before we demand praise from anyone else,” Njagu said.

“So all we are doing with this TV show is showcasing Zimbabwean talent to the world. The Did you know segment? is a unique feature that will leave the audience shocked to know some things about Zimbabweans that they never imagined.”
