Thieves broke into Spar Supermarket and ZimSpice using some explosives. Charamba warned shop owners to desist from keeping large sums of money saying banks were a safe option.

“So far we are still carrying out investigations. We want to alert shop owners and warn them not to keep large sums of money in their safes. They must bank their money because we have been dealing with a number of similar cases and in this particular case the thieves did not target one shop, but two shops. So shop owners must bank their money,” Charamba said.

“In the meantime, we are doing all we can to establish the culprits behind the robberies.”
