Mukunyadze committed to donate towards the pageant a few minutes before it started.
Initially, the organisers had pegged the value of the pageant at $1 500. The first winner would have taken home a live goat and an unstated amount of cash.
Runners-up would have got cash and two nights at Executive Hotel. But with Mukunyadze on board, retainer of the crown William Masvinu got one-year school fees for one of his children, a grocery voucher worth $200, full safety wear gear, which includes a helmet, complete worksuit and his size 16 boots.
Benny Chakanyuka, the first runner-up, took home groceries worth $100, one school term’s tuition for one of his children, while Funny Musekiwa took home a grocery voucher worth $50.
Mukunyadze said his gesture should be taken as an offer for engagement from the business sector with the arts industry.
“All the sectors cannot be separated and for a long time, artistes have been lamenting lack of partnership from the business fraternity, but that should be a thing of the past now,” he said on the side lines of the event.

“What we now need to do is to conform to the trends of formalisation in both business and arts sectors.”
Masvinu, who was elated to have won the first prize, was on record as saying he had not benefited befittingly for his triumph.
Biggy Chinoperekwei one of the sponsors, said they would make sure that the prizes would be presented as promised.
“We are sitting down tomorrow with the organisers so that we can distribute the $1 500 among the winners and also give them their vouchers for the hotel stays,” said Chinoperekwei.
He said he was grateful that Mukunyadze had come on board to assist.
