The 27-year-old singer, who is riding high with her 13-track album titled Fair & Just, has instead formed a 50-member choir called Thousand Voices.

Madondo, who is also the younger sister of the late popular gospel diva Jackie Madondo, was one of the leading vocalists at Zimpraise, a group that is well known for the hit song Sungano.

In an interview yesterday Madondo confirmed about the move and said her new stable is set to provide a variety of music genres.

“I am no longer with Zimpraise having been working with the group for a while and now I am doing my own projects.

“It is a well-planned thing in that we have been going around the country searching for talent and all I can say is that we recruited amazing musicians, dancers and instrumentalists.

“This, therefore, means it is a powerful choir that is a force to reckon with in the gospel music fraternity. There is still a chance for those who want to join us to be part of the team,” Madondo said. She started her musical career at the age of 16 as a backing vocalist to her sister Jackie’s band Vessels of Honor.

In 2011 she joined Zimpraise and early this year she released her solo album.

Meanwhile, Zimpraise is proving to be one of the best gospel group ever to emerge in the country as their music is going viral. Currently the group is on a national tour where they are meeeting with their legion of fans.
