DYNAMOS team manager Richard Chihoro is wary of Highlanders ahead of the top-of-the-table Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie

DYNAMOS team manager Richard Chihoro is wary of Highlanders ahead of the top-of-the-table Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie likely to decide the destiny of the championship at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

Report by Sports Correspondent

Chihoro said yesterday Highlanders have hit top form at the right moment, and it will not be easy to break down.

He also said the fact that the Bulawayo giants scored three goals against Black Rhinos at Rimuka Stadium was testimony of their good run.

“Black Rhinos had turned Rimuka into their fortress and they were unbeaten in their last three games at Rimuka. The fact that Highlanders ended that good run shows they are the team of the moment.

“So we have to tackle this assignment with hunger and aggression because they have not won the championship for a very long time and are at home. They really need to win this match. We have to go out there with a positive mind,” ”said Chihoro.

Not a single team had managed to score a goal at Rimuka in their last three matches before their 3-0 thumping by Highlanders. They had drawn 0-0 against Black Mambas at Rimuka, defeated How Mine 3-0 and drew 0-0 against Buffaloes — their defeat is a clear testimony of Bosso’s resurgence.

However, Dynamos, who have staggered from one poor result to the other which got them kicked out of the BancABC Sup8r Cup and the Mbada Diamonds Cup, have also re-discovered their winning formula after handing Tripple B a crushing 4-0 defeat thanks to goals by Oscar Chove, Ugandan import Boban Zirintusa, Tawanda Muparati and Washington Pakamisa.

The Harare giants will take heart from that memorable victory as they seek to topple Bosso from the summit of the league table. Dynamos also arrive at Barbourfields with a proud record as they have not lost a league match to their opponents since 2006 when Highlanders lifted the domestic crown.

That will certainly give them a psychological advantage as the title race reaches climax.

Only five games are left before the curtain comes down on the soccer calendar. Highlanders lead the premiership pack with 47 points with Dynamos trailing by two points. Harare City are third because of an inferior goal difference. FC Platinum, on fourth position with 42 points, are also still in the picture despite a shock 1-2 defeat to in form Triangle in their previous match.
