SUPERSPORT commercial director for Africa Stanley Mathews says Zimbabwean football has a bright future and the subscription television sports channel would do everything to improve football in the country.

He said this on the sidelines of a workshop for the Premier Soccer League clubs in Harare yesterday.
The workshop, held in the capital, was attended by all the sixteen Premier Soccer League clubs including chairman of the league Twine Phiri and chief executive Kenny Ndebele.
“The purpose of the workshop is for the PSL chairman to talk about the professional game of football in Zimbabwe and how it is growing. This will help us to see how we can improve the product and how we can add value from a television perspective.
“Zimbabwean players are doing very well and we are excited to do more to improve the product in terms of marketing. This is a launch pad for Zimbabwean players,” said Mathews.
The Supersport boss also said the workshops will be ongoing as they seek to improve the game in Zimbabwe.
The Supersport crew has come at a time the domestic premiership will witness the 71st edition of the Harare derby pitting Zimbabwe champions Dynamos against bitter rivals Caps United at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
