New Life Nite Club

Tonight the club at Budiriro 1 Shopping Centre plays host to Zora musician Leonard Zhakata. The musician, who has been off the radar for some time, seeks a welcome party in the high density suburb.

Jazz 105

Jah Prayzah plays at Jazz 105 tonight. Tomorrow DJ KC takes over before a resident DJ entertains revellers for the After Bhora Party.

Super Label Nite Club

Shinsoman plays at Super Label tomorrow night.

Hwenje’s Village

New Generation Dance Group entertains revellers at the venue tonight. Tomorrow it’s an intimate affair with solo guitarist Kireni Zulu and his Marabhi Queens.

Takura Junction

Rising sungura musician Romeo Gasa gets a chance to sample his delayed album Pin Code at Takura Junction in Kambuzuma tonight.

Holly’s Hotel

Raunchy dancer Beverly Sibanda aka Bev performs at Holly’s Hotel on Sunday.

Gijima Sports Bar

It is yet another mbira affair at Gijima Sports Bar at the corner of Kwame Nkurumah Avenue Park Street with Mbira DzeNharira playing at the venue tonight.

Chikangwe Tavern (Karoi)

Sungura outfit Extra Kwazvose plays at Chikangwe Tavern tomorrow as they seek to reach out to audiences outside the capital city. On Sunday they travel across to Mashonaland Central for a gig at Guruve Hotel.

Amphitheatre (Bulawayo)

Sulumani Chimbetu and Superstar Oliver Mtukudzi play at Amphitheatre tonight. The show is an equal of a welcome back party as both artistes were recently on international tours.

Pick ‘n’ Save (Mutare)

Sungura ace Alick Macheso travels to the eastern border town for a gig at Pick ‘n’ Save tonight. Tomorrow he performs in Mbare at Stodart Hall before rounding up his performances with a family show at Harare Gardens on Sunday. Farmers Nite Club (Chegutu)

At Shoko Festival

Tonight Jamaican artiste Tony Rebel shares the stage with a number of local artistes at the Chiwoniso Maraire Stage at Water Whirld.

Tomorrow will kick off with workshops at Water Whirld’s Dambudzo Marechera Circle in the morning, while the afternoon will see the Mashoko Spoken Word event taking place at the Julius Chingono Stage from 3pm.

It would be followed by “Sunset,” a calm collected soulful mix of music and poetry from 6pm to 7pm.

The climax of the night will be the Shutdown concert, a mix of mbira, Hip-Hop and dubstep with the cherry on top being the DJs after party.

The concert will feature the likes of DJs Rax and Raydizz.

Chana, Hope Masike, Monkey Nuts, Ewok, Symbiz Sound, Dhadza D and Synik will also perform on the night. On Sunday the festival presents the enormous Peace In Da Hood concert in the high density suburb of Glen-Norah when all regional and international acts head for the final massive mash up on the closing of the six days of entertainment.
