SOUTH AFRICAN kwaito group Mafikizolo is set to perform at Belgravia Sports Club in Harare on Friday next week.

The show, being organised by Event Worx, would be the first of the events that will see another South African Loyiso Bala performing at the same venue the following day. According to Event Worx marketing director, Chido Musasiwa, Mafikizolo will arrive on Friday morning aboard a South African Airways flight.
“Mafikizolo performs after Tehn Diamond, Junior Brown and Sniper Storm, who will be the supporting acts,” Musasiwa said.
“The show ends at around midnight and people go for an after-party at a venue yet to be announced.”
She said the Bala show would be a family event that would see children below 12 years gaining free entry. “We want it to be a real family affair. Students from the University of Zimbabwe with identity cards will pay half the price for both shows,” she said.
“We also urge show-goers to secure advance tickets which would be cheaper and convenient to avoid hustles at the gates.”
Bala will be supported by Adiona Maboreke-Chidzonga, Ba Shupi and Jah Prayzah. Mafikizolo is currently riding high on the success of their seventh album Six Mabone which carries the chart topper Khona. The group is led by Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza. The duo would travel to Harare with a 10-member band, while Bala is expected to bring a six-piece band.
