At the event, people waited outside the venue as the organisers were trying to solve the problem.

“We want to apologise to the dancehall fans because they had to wait for almost an hour waiting for us to fix the problem,” Chimbodza said.

He said they had to get another generator from City Sports Centre, where they had the Cup Clash running concurrently.

“It was a technical fault. It explains why the hotel had power while the gardens didn’t,” he said.

Despite the power cut, the event was a success with artistes Winky D, Jah Prayzah, Sniper, Lady Squander, Dadza D and Lady Bee thrilling fans.

Winky D became the biggest winner of the night with his song Mafirakureva proving to be popular with the crowds.

Though Sniper found the bar set by Winky D too high, the musician managed to keep hundreds of fans on their toes. The General, as Sniper is popularly known, was at his best with songs Kwarira Mukati, Mwari Ndibatsirei and Love ye Musoja proving to be popular.
