Déjà vu Night Club The Kuwadzana 5 club hosts young musician Peter Moyo tonight. The club has livened up Kuwadzana 5 shopping centre since it began hosting live bands recently. Moyo is slowly claiming a slot on the top list of local musicians. On Sunday Moyo stages a show at Jongwe Corner in Hatfield.

Circus Nightclub Tonight the club at Strathaven shopping centre presents an official opening party after some renovations. Sulumani Chimbetu leads the party with his Orchestra Dendera Kings. Tomorrow Sulu travels to Rusape for a gig at Vhengere Stadium where he will share the stage with Hosiah Chipanga. Chipanga has been in his shell for a long time and the show should be an opportunity to announce his return.

Megga 1 Bar Situated in Graniteside, the pub, which is popularly known as Pamahushwa, hosts a family show featuring Sulu and Jah Prayzah on Sunday. The duo is regarded as the most powerful combination of the moment in local music. They have staged several joint gigs at the venue before.

New Life Nightclub Alick Macheso continues with a campaign to market his upcoming album when he performs at the Budiriro 1 venue tonight. The musician is looking forward to an emphatic return to the top of the sungura ladder following the lukewarm response to his current album. His shows have become testing platforms for the upcoming release expected next month.

Jazz 105 A real test awaits new outfit Extra Kwazvose tonight at the upmarket venue in the city centre. Known as the Rebels, the band boasts immense talent, but their arrival on the music scene has been met with mixed feelings. Their debut show at Jazz 105 should give them a chance to prove their mettle considering the centrality of the venue. Tomorrow the band stages another show at Moonlight Nightclub at Makoni shopping centre in Chitungwiza. Dzivaresekwa Stadium Dancehall music lovers are in for a treat tomorrow night at Dzivaresekwa Stadium where several artistes pursuing the genre are billed to perform.

Dubbed “Heroes Special”, the show will see artists Freeman, Shinsoman, Emmanuel “Guspy Warrior”, Manyeruke, Killah T, Sniper, Dadza D and Templeman geared to lighten the venue with their energetic performance and free-styling skills.

Takura Junction The bar in Kambuzuma hosts dendera musician Allan Chimbetu tonight. It would be Allan’s return to Harare after a long time of performing in the countryside. Tomorrow he retreats to the capital’s outskirts when he goes to Domboshava for a show at Oak Corner.

Zimbabwe-German Society Upcoming musicians and poets will get an opportunity to showcase their talent tonight at the Milton Park venue’s traditional Acoustic Nights slot.

Water Whirld All is set for the Miss Harare Colleges 2013 beauty pageant to be held this afternoon at Water Whirld in Eastlea. The event, which will run under the theme Discovering and Promoting Pageantry at Grassroots Level, will see a bevy of 20 beauties vying for the coveted crown. According to one of the event organisers Privilege Moyo, the pageant seeks to give a platform to academics to show that they can do more than just books.

Book Café Thanda Richardson and Kessia Mangosha will share the stage in the first part of entertainment at the venue this evening before Mawungira eNharira mbira ensemble takes over. Tomorrow entertainment begins in the afternoon at Book Café with the traditional Sistaz Open Mic session. A poetry and mbira event will be held thereafter while Alexio Kawara seals the night with his soothing tunes.
