The International Red Cross Society ambassador donated the blankets on behalf of the organisation.

Macheso said he was happy to be given the chance to work with Red Cross.

“I’m doing this voluntarily and I’m not paid to do this. If you don’t need the blankets you can pass them on to people in your neighbourhood that are in need,” said Macheso.

Macheso told NewsDay that he was going to organise some fundraising shows to help orphans and street kids.

“I am embarking on a countrywide tour trying to hold shows everywhere where Red Cross is. We will donate proceeds to orphans, street kids and other underprivileged people,” he said. Macheso said he was happy to hear that P-Square had been appointed Red Cross ambassador in Nigeria. “This shows that artistes have a great role to play in terms of community building,” Macheso said.
