A total of 30 local referees will take part in the five-day course which will be officiated by former Zimbabwe top centreman Felix Tangawarima.

In an interview with NewsDay Sport, Zifa vice-president Ndumiso Gumede confirmed the development.

“This is an annual event where referees are equipped with latest techniques in football. The course will be targeting on every top performer around the country. The course will start on Saturday; it will be a five-day thing and are expecting 30 referees, that is high performers to take part at the course. Felix Tangawamira and Carlos Henris will be the instructors,” he said.

The course has been strategically set for this weekend as there will be no Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches as the Warriors will be hosting Zambia in a rescheduled African Nations Championships final qualifier, first leg at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
