Crocker, who will complete his senior year at Westlake High in California next month, was previously linked with a move to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

However, the young golf prodigy’s father, Gary Croker — a former Zimbabwe Test cricketer — told NewsDay Sport that his son had now committed to the USC. “Sean has de-committed from UCLA and has now committed to USC.

“USC is a high-ranking private college. He was given a full scholarship after citing differences with UCLA and their administration.

“He can’t wait and is very excited to join and play for the USC Trojans, as they are known, in 2014. He will sign his letter of intent to go there in November this year,” said Crocker Snr.

Last week, Crocker further enhanced his growing reputation as one of the top junior golfers in the US after winning the Stockton Convention and Visitors Bureau Junior Open in Stockton, California, at the weekend.
