The revered course will run for three weeks beginning on September 5.

Jongwe, who is currently working as the Mighty Warriors technical adviser revealed the news to NewsDaySport yesterday.

“I have received my admission letter for the course which is for elite coaches in non-European teams,” said Jongwe.

“I will leave for England early next month, but subject to the availability of a visa. I don’t think that would be a problem because all my documents are in place. Participating in the course will not just benefit me as a person, but it is good for the development of football in the country. I will be exposed to high standards of coaching and upon my completion and return to the country, I will definitely share my experiences with other local coaches,” said Jongwe.

The former Kiglon gaffer, who currently holds a Caf B licence, was supposed to have undertaken the course last year, but deferred due to the unavailability of funds.

“Our host will only provide us accommodation so I couldn’t raise the money for other expenses. But I’m grateful that a sponsor has come on board and has pledged to pay for my airfares, the course fees and for my general upkeep in England. I’m very grateful to this sponsor who has shown great desire to develop football in the country and hope others will also do the same,” said Jongwe.

The FA international course is one of the highly-regarded coaching badges in world football and Highlanders coach Kevin Kaindu is one of the few in possession of it.

According to the FA website, the course’s objective is to provide participants with an introduction to the effective management and coaching of football in order to assist the safe and progressive delivery of coaching sessions.

The website also indicates that the participants will be afforded an opportunity to watch FA Premier League matches.

“This is a three-week residential course providing candidates with the opportunity to develop their football knowledge and coaching competencies through a variety of related activities. The course content includes the following aspects: the learning and coaching process, match analysis, coaching demonstrations by senior members of the FA technical department, coaching practice, football fitness and football psychology, emergency aid and aspects of first aid, health and safety, attitudes and ethics, laws of the game, visit to FA Premier league matches and visit to a Premier league youth academy,” read part of the course description on the website.
