THE Zimbabwe National Editors’ Forum (Zinef) yesterday extended its condolences to the family of the late Sunday News editor Paul Mambo, who died at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo on Saturday.
Mambo, who was 46, succumbed to meningitis.
In a statement, Zinef chairperson Brian Mangwende said: “I received the news of Mambo’s death with disbelief. Only recently we were making strides in trying to come up with a unified editors’ forum, but he raised concern on whether it was going to be possible for obvious reasons.
“He confided in me a lot and vice–versa on issues affecting editors in the State media with a view to finding lasting solutions to their plight. I will miss his wisdom, courage and openness. May his soul rest in peace.”
Mambo is survived by his wife Egith and four children.
