MUTASA — About 300 MDC supporters in Mutasa area were yesterday disappointed after party leader Professor Welshman Ncube failed to turn up for a scheduled rally.

Report by Staff Reporter

The party’s provincial chairman Davis Mundirwira said the rally was called off because of Ncube’s busy schedule.

Earlier in the morning,Ncube addressed another rally in Rimbi area in Chipinge, almost 250km from Mutasa.

Addressing the aborted rally, MDC secretary for international relations and external structures Sondon Mugaradziko told the gathering that his party had a clear understanding of devolution and best governing practices to run the country.

He said his party would try its best to restore the education and health system in Zimbabwe as well as finding lasting solutions.

He added that the resources in Manicaland, especially diamonds, should be harnessed for the people of the province so that locals could benefit from the resource.
