Only 28 revellers turned up at the venue forcing the musician to cancel his performance.

Proprietor of the venue Fidelis Ngove had no kind words for the artiste who calls himself Musoja or The General. “That boy is just too pompous and we regret ever engaging him because we incurred losses,” said Ngove.

“We had to pay the police, pay for posters, adverts and the instruments and we lost up to $540.

“The saddening part is we asked him to go on stage in time because we know the trend with small artistes is people only get into the venue when they start to hear them perform, but he refused.”

Ngove lamented that if it had been a normal day without a scheduled event he would not have lost money.

Contacted for comment, Sniper said he never duped anyone. “Nothing like that happened,” he said.

“I cannot talk to you at the moment can, you call me in the afternoon so that we talk about it.”

This is not the first time that Sniper has taken fans for a ride. In November last year he was taken to the police by Mashonaland Central promoter Joseph Kufandiko after he disappeared without performing at a show.

He later reimbursed the promoter.

At New Life, the 28 fans who had paid lost a total of $56 after forking out $2 each.
