The competition, which is in its fourth year, is open to artistes worldwide.

They will be required to respond to four inspirational briefs, interpreting a theme that reflects each of the Emirates Skywards membership tiers which are: Blue, “New Experiences”; Silver, “Alternate Perspectives”; Gold, “Deeper Insight”; and Platinum, “Infinite Intuition”.

The artists will submit their artwork using any of these three broad media categories: photography/digital media, painting/illustration, and 3D (sculpture, ceramic and glass).

Details for the competition can be found at: http://ekskywardsfutureartists.com/.

All entries must be submitted by July 23. After the artwork is evaluated and short-listed, judging will commence; conducted by a panel of highly regarded industry professionals and experts. Voting by Emirates Skywards members will be open from September 1 to 16.

The Emirates Skywards’ Future Artists competition is designed to give undiscovered artists the chance to be seen by millions.

Four winning entries will be chosen and they will have their artwork featured on the Emirates Skywards 2014 frequent flyer programme membership cards; giving artists an exciting opportunity to express their creativity while connecting them with a global and esteemed platform of over nine million Emirates Skywards members.

In addition, the creators of the winning artworks will receive a commission of $5000 and their selected artwork will be featured in supporting online and offline communications and promotional material, plus each artist’s name will be displayed alongside their winning artwork.

“By seeking out undiscovered talent — be it self-taught, art students or even experienced individuals who have not yet achieved their artistic aspirations — the competition engages the Emirates Skywards community by not only introducing them to these talented new artists but also allows them to vote for their favourite artwork; giving them a voice in design of their membership cards each year.

“This level of involvement has led to our valued members discovering cutting-edge artwork which they would otherwise not have had the opportunity to experience,” said Brian LaBelle, Senior Vice-President Emirates Skywards.
