Hakeem was up for eviction with fellow Zimbabwean Pokello Nare. Zimbabwe voted to save Pokello who bagged four country votes. Hakeem was saved by Zambia because of his association with Zambian lass, Cleo.

If Zambia had not voted for Hakeem, he would have definitely left the house because he was one of the housemates with the least votes.

The tie-breaker rules were applied to Maria (Namibia), Natasha (Malawi), Bolt (Sierra Leone) and Hakeem as they each had one popularity vote. Bolt and Maria were evicted on Sunday as they had the lowest average percentage across all countries.

Angola, Ghana, and South Africa voted to keep Pokello in the Diamond House, showing her popularity in the game. It was indeed a clash of the divas as Namibia’s Dillish also received four country votes from Botswana, Ethiopia, Nigeria and the Rest of Africa. Annabel (Kenya) followed with three votes from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

It is clear that Africa does not seem to be entertained by Hakeem as he seems to be concentrating more on Cleo. In order to regain votes from Africa, Hakeem needs to focus less on Cleo who does not seem to fancy him much and interact more with fellow housemates.

Pokello is playing it safe so far as she is not involved in a relationship. Though Elikem (Ghana) fancies her, Pokello has always kept her distance stating that she has a boyfriend (Stunner) back home whom she loves.

Relationships do not seem to be of interest to the show’s viewers this year as lovers seem to be walking out of the house either together or one after the other. First to be evicted were lovers’ Koketso (South Africa) and LK4 (Uganda). The two were evicted on the same day after concentrating too much on their relationship and forgeting about the game. Bolt’s girlfriend Betty (Ethiopia) was evicted last week and her man followed her on Sunday.

Hakeem’s brother Itai and Pokello’s boyfriend, Desmond “Stunner” Chideme were all there to support Pokello and Hakeem at the Book Café, which is the official Zimbabwean Big Brother Africa fan lounge.

An excited Stunner said he knew Pokello was not going to be evicted.

“When I went to the fan lounge, it was expected that Pokello was not going to be evicted as I don’t expect her to be back soon. She is a strong person who will make it to the finals,” Stunner said.

Meanwhile, Pokello’s bossiness has cost her once more again as she received the highest number of nominations for eviction from the Diamonds House yesterday. After moving into the Diamonds House last week, most housemates there already want her out of the house.

Beverly said she nominated Pokello because she was a dictator while Nando said he did not connect with Pokello. Cleo and Melvin nominated Pokello stating that she was a strong contender who was confident of her game plan and herself. Hakeem only got one nomination for Selly and is not up for eviction though this can change if the Head of House replaces him with a nominated housemate.

Eighteen housemates are left in the chase for the $300 000 prize with Angola and Uganda out of the game completely. Botswana, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, South Africa, Kenya and Namibia are left with one representative each while the remaining countries still have both their representatives gunning for the grand prize.
