DESTINY for Afrika Network founding president Obadiah Musindo has accused MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai of copying his idea of using housing schemes as a campaign tool ahead of next Wednesday’s harmonised elections.

Musindo, who has dangled housing projects and residential stands on behalf of Zanu PF in several parts of the country, said Tsvangirai had lately hijacked the idea after realising that it was more appealing to the electorate.

“Tsvangirai is now copying our ideas because there is a lot of bankruptcy in his manifesto,” Musindo said while addressing desperate home-seekers in Mutare on Saturday.

Tsvangirai has pledged to build houses in rural areas and to help thousands of people whose homes were destroyed in 2005 during a government-sponsored clean-up campaign dubbed Operation Murambatsvina.

“How can he go and lie to the people that he is going to build houses? He used our documents which were accessed by his followers and now he is trying to tell people that he will deliver houses to them.

“All along in the inclusive government he was silent about it and people should ask him why his controlled ministries failed to build houses for the people. He has no solution to Zimbabwe and in Zanu PF we have a lot of tangible projects,” Musindo said.

“He is claiming his rich friends will build you houses, but as Zanu-PF we have already done that. He is just trying to sow seeds of hatred.”

Musindo has been doling out stands to Zanu PF supporters on condition that the beneficiaries bring at least five registered voters to the party. He has, however, threatened to repossess the stands if the electorate voted for MDC-T.
