Mukwazhe withdraws from presidential race

Independent presidential aspirant Kisinoti Mukwazhe has pulled out of the race.

Report by Tapiwa Zivira

He cited that the playing field was skewed towards the main front runners which left him with no chance of getting fair attention in the poll

Information recieved indicates that Mukwazhe is now supporting Zanu PF candidate president Robert Mugabe.

Mukwazhe’s withdrawal leaves four candidates, President Robert Mugabe, MDC-T leader Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, Zapu leader Dumiso Dabengwa and MDC’s Welshman Ncube in the run for presidency.

More details to follow.

@Gogodera- Good one this…reminds me of one ZANU Masvingo primary election in the 2002 election where the loser cried foul and the winner had this to say…”how can he say this when not even his wife voted for him?” The losing contestant had polled zero.

And nw we hear komichi has been arrested. For wat,for handing over cast ballots that had been dumped in a trash can. And i thot the criminal was the guy that dumped ballots in a trash can. Not the one that presents the evidence. But we have come to xpect such behaviour from a desperate regime. Wat dlamini zuma and the rest of the world has to understand is that in zim its not the common men and women in the streets who pepetrate violence and intimidation,IT IS THE STATE. The state is the biggest culprit wen it comes to violence during elections here. And the earlier this zuma lady got this message the better for the pple of zim.

  23. Falcon July 28, 2013 at 12:19 pm #

You could have fooled me, I thought he joined the other party a long time back.

  24. false fire alarm July 28, 2013 at 12:30 pm #

zuma dhlamini was thrust upon the helm of AU by these incumbent persons vote at the expense of that other gentleman. she is thus quite available for denouncing by chamatama and many other african states. a square peg if there is one.

  25. Chazuto July 28, 2013 at 12:56 pm #

Macheso is more influential than this Mukwazhe guy,I see his withdrawal from the race not changing the outcome

Mahomed Morsi? Welshman Ncube? Roy Bannet? Lindiwe Zulu? dont be silly!

  45. Zimbabwean July 29, 2013 at 7:58 am #

Mukwazhe is a C.I.O who was tasked to caused confusion in the race. Now he is allowed to withdraw with only two dayz before the elections but in 2008 Tsvangirai withdrawal was rejected but it was a week before the re-run. Zimbabwean courts are funny. Chidyausiku asks Mugabe what to do. The time is now. Chinja maitiro ako ayo.
