PETER Moyo set Extra Mile Leisure Sport in Glen Norah ablaze on Sunday with an energetic show that left hundreds of fans who thronged the venue convinced that he is a force to reckon with in the local music industry despite mixed feelings over his debut offering Mushonga Mukuru.

The Young Igwe, as the musician is popularly known, went on stage around 7pm receiving cheers from hundreds of fans who thronged the venue after rising star Romeo Gasa, who was the supporting act, had earlier given a good account of himself.
Gasa’s energetic performance seemed to be an indication that the game had changed as he reaffirmed his rise to a higher position in the industry.
As Peter went on stage, the crowds started waving, dancing and singing along the musician as Utakataka members displayed their energetic dances.
With Moyo’s debut album gaining popularity with each day, revellers were kept on their toes dancing for the better part of the night.
He churned out hits like Konzi, Tutsotso, Mushonga Mukuru, Pasirino, Barika and Mwari Wenyasha, among others, which are proving to be very popular.
Speaking on the sidelines of the show, the musician’s manager Sukosile Dube said they were overwhelmed by the way the crowds were supporting their shows.

“It is so encouraging that our shows are being well attended and we want to thank our fans for that support,” said Dube.
To those who thronged the venue, the show proved critics wrong for those who believed he is still young to fill in his father the late Tongai Moyo’s shoes.
“Peter has improved in his stage work and today (Sunday) he put up a well-spirited performance. He must keep on working extra hard, he is in the groove,” said Bernard Maunga, who was at the show.
