TAKESURE Chinyama could join South African Premiership football side Bidvest Wits University after the Warriors man was spotted training with the club over the weekend. Report by Henry Mhara

Media reports down South suggested that the big striker arrived at Wits on Friday after he was recently released by Orlando Pirates.

KickOff.com said they spotted the big striker again on Saturday and word is that he will be assessed for a week before the club makes a decision.

The 30-year-old is hoping to impress with the Clever Boys, who are undergoing a squad reshaping following the arrival of new coach Gavin Hunt last month.

If he impresses Hunt, Chinyama would join his compatriots at the club Thomas Sweswe, Tinashe Nengomasha and Denver Mukamba while Benjani Mwaruwari has already signed a one-year deal with an option to renew.

Other media reports have also suggested that Chinyama is wanted by another Premiership side Bloemfontein Celtic, home to former striking partner at Dynamos, Rodreck Mutuma. Newly-promoted sides Polokwane City and Mpumalanga Black Aces are said to be monitoring the developments.

Another Warriors man Nyasha Mushekwi is also on the hunt for a new club after he left for Belgium on Saturday where he is attending a trial with Jupiler League team KV Oostende.

Mushekwi was on target on Sunday as they beat Eendracht 3-0, scoring the second goal.

He is also expected to play in tomorrow’s match against RWDM Brussels.

His club Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed that Mushekwi would be at the European club for a week. Cuthbert Malajila, who was brought in to replace Mushekwi, has already started training with the Brazilians.

Also beginning training this week is Knowledge Musona at Kaizer Chiefs where he will spend a season on loan from his German club Hoffenheim.

Musona reportedly spurned tempting offers from Sundowns, and Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda and an unnamed English Premier League side to join Chiefs.

“It’s true that Downs were interested in Musona’s services. But he felt he should go back to the team he played for in the PSL because he was only going to stay for one season. So it was logical for him to rejoin his former team,”said Musona’s agent Mike Makaab yesterday.

While Musona is back at Naturena, his compatriot Lincoln Zvasiya has left Chiefs to join Greek side OFI Crete on a year deal. But the biggest transfer news involving a Warriors player should be that of left wingback Costa Nhamoinesu who joined Czech Republic giants Sparta Prague on a free transfer from Polish side Zaglebie Lubin last week.

The 27-year-old signed a two-year deal with the club that is famed for producing players such as Chelsea’s Peter Cech, Arsenal’s Thomas Rosicky and Juventus legend Pavel Nedved.

Nhamoinesu, who had been heavily linked with a move to Spanish La Liga outfit Granada before deciding to go to the Czech Republic, will this season play in the Uefa Europa League with his new club. They will begin their campaign in the qualifying rounds which kick off this Thursday.
