PREMIERSHIP side Buffaloes striker Wonder Sithole, who will face his former paymasters Dynamos tomorrow in a league match for the first time at Sakubva Stadium, says he will not be emotional after a sad and nightmarish departure from the league champions last year. KENNETH NYANGANI

The match will be screened live from Sakubva for the first time. The midfielder was lured by Dynamos in 2008 from Masvingo United until he was offloaded during the last half of the 2012 season.

The player has always put it on record that he is not playing to prove his critics wrong although he was deregistered under unclear circumstances at Dynamos.

This was what he said during his first training week at Buffaloes early this year.

“What riles me is the fact that not even one person from Dynamos came to explain the reasons behind my deregistration as a Dynamos player.

“But my move to Buffaloes does not necessarily mean that I want to prove my critics wrong, but it is my wish to do what I know best in the field of play and also playing according to the instructions from my coaches,” he said.

In an interview with NewsDay Sport yesterday, just before their training session at Sakubva Stadium, Sithole, who is enjoying first team jersey at the army side, said his team had prepared well for the match.

“I don’t think I will be emotional. It is something I am thinking about because I am happy here; the only thing I can promise is that I am not going to celebrate if I manage to score against them,” he said. “Yes, they are still unbeaten, but this is a game of football.

We also have equal chances of coming up with maximum points and I am urging our fans to rally behind us from the first minute to the last.”

Buffaloes will be playing for the first time under Timothy Masachi, who took over from Saul Chaminuka two weeks ago against a Dynamos side that is unbeaten in 13 matches and sits second on the log standings with 25 points-four off leaders Highlanders.

Meanwhile, DStv have announced the schedule of live matches, starting tomorrow.

“On Wednesday (tomorrow), SuperSport’s Outside Broadcast (OB) van will be at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare for the first time, as Buffaloes host defending champions Dynamos.

“The OB van and crew will then head to the capital for Thursday’s match between third-placed Harare City and Monomotapa at Rufaro Stadium, followed by two more big games at the weekend. On Saturday 22 June, the clash between Caps United and log leaders Highlanders at the National Sports Stadium will be live on SuperSport 9, and encounters between these two teams are always fiercely-fought. On Sunday, your World of Champions brings you the match at Rufaro between Dynamos and newly-promoted How Mine, who have been the biggest surprise package of the season so far.”
