EASTERN Region Division One Football side Hippo Valley veteran midfielder Rowen Nenzou is confident, saying they will stretch their unbeaten run to 10 matches when they lock horns with Ruwa in a league match at Chishamiso today. KENNETH NYANGANI

The Chiredzi-based side is occupying top spot with 25 points from nine matches and are yet to taste defeat while Mutare-based side Tenax are occupying second position with 17 points from the same number of matches.

Nomadic gaffer Moses Chunga, who is the team’s technical adviser, is credited for breathing a new lease of life at the Lowveld side and they will come into the match with their heads high after posting a 3-0 morale-boosting win over Tenax last Sunday in Mutare.

The Lowveld-based side has vast experience in their ranks with the likes of skipper Fidelis Mangezi, Nenzou, Simba Manuwere, Lloyd Masakuse and Tapiwa Dephistara, who have all played in the Premiership.

“We are not yet talking of Premiership promotion. It’s too early to talk about that. We still have to play 21 games and anything can happen, but, however, at our team we are taking each game as it comes and we are confident that we will continue with our form,’’ he said.

“Every team we are playing will be aiming to beat us; so we have to be at our best all the time and hopefully we will get maximum points from Ruwa ,” he said.
