The Hoffenheim striker spent the past season on loan at fellow Bundesliga side FC Augsburg where he had limited game time.

The Warriors chief striker, however, said he played well in the first half of the season for Augsburg, but found the going tough in the second half.

The former Kaizer Chiefs striker said he was now looking forward to a better season. Musona ruled out a return to South Africa anytime soon. He said it was not the right time for him to do so.

“I don’t think it is the right time. I still want to continue to play in Europe. I don’t know whether I will be going back to Hoffenheim or not. I will have to wait to hear from my manager,” Musona said.

“I played well in the first half of the season at Augsburg, but in the second half with the coming of new players I was used as a substitute. The team was playing well and it was difficult for me to play regularly. But I am now looking forward to a better season. I don’t know whether I will be staying at Hoffenheim or I will move to another club,” said Musona.

His former club Kaizer Chiefs had shown interest to lure Musona back to South Africa in the event that he was keen to leave Europe. The club’s football manager Bobby Motaung had been quoted saying they would welcome the Zimbabwean striker back to the club.

“He is my baby. I will love to have him back, but unfortunately he is contracted to a German team. He is in Europe where it is high-level, but if he is available I will definitely have him back,” Motaung was quoted saying.
