KWEKWE — Musician Ronny Mudhindo who rose to fame as Utakataka Express bassist before forming his own outfit lost clothes worth $31 to his maid.

Mudhindo, who worked closely with the late sungura star Tongai Moyo in producing Samanyemba, was forced to drag his maid to the police after she stole baby clothes while in his employ.

Jenifer Chiduwa (18) was fined $20 or alternatively five days in prison after she pleaded guilty to the charge of theft before Provincial Magistrate Taurai Manwere.

It was the State’s case that on May 30, Chiduwa, who was working for Mudhindo as a maid, stole baby clothes from his Mbizo 13 home while her employer was away.

Mudhindo’s wife Cathrine Manzanzike, who discovered that the clothes were missing then went to the maid’s house where she recovered some of the clothes valued at $15,00, but the other clothes had already been sold.

Mudhindo, winner of the 2010 Chibuku road to fame show, has formed his own musical outfit VaZvamburi which has so far released an album titled Bhora mberi with Gramma Records.
