Lira is expected to touch down at Harare International Airport at 12.30pm with her five-member band aboard a South African Airways flight.

Yesterday the musician expressed her excitement in touring the country in a post on her Facebook page that read: “One more sleep then we are off to rock Harare, Zimbabwe. (I am) excited.”

She is set to share the stage with Alexio Kawara, Chiwoniso Maraire and Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana.

Show organiser Chris Musabayana said everything was in place for the show and Lira’s fans should brace for an exciting night.

“We have now done all the groundwork and we are waiting for the artistes to do their part,” Musabayana said.

“Lira has shown much enthusiasm in the trip and local artistes have been in intensive rehearsals for the show over the past few weeks. They have all shown commitment towards the show and people should look forward to spirited performances from all musicians.

“From our side, we can say the stage is set and Harare is ready to explode with a spectacular gig.”

Kawara said he would stand his ground to prove he can perform alongside any international act.

“We always give people the best. When we are performing with an international act, we strive to make our fans proud of their local talent in addition to appreciating the visitor’s performance,” Kawara said.
