FIFA instructor Henry Tandau is in the country to conduct an administration course for Zifa officials.

Report by Henry Mhara

The course, which began yesterday in the capital, will be officially opened at Zifa Village this morning.

Zifa education officer Brian Moyo yesterday confirmed that the Tanzanian was in the country for the course, and would be assisted by Premier Soccer League chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele, who is also a Fifa instructor.

Thirty Zifa officials are expected to participate.

“Football is an industry with five pillars which include, among others, referees, coaches and administration.

“Just like other facets of football, we would want to equip our administrators and that is the reason we are holding this course. The participants are coming from our various affiliates around the country,” said Moyo. This is the second time Tandau will be in the country in as many years.

He was in the country in June last year for a similar course.

The course is tackling key aspects of football administration including, among others, the general organisation, strategic planning and event management.

The domestic game has often been littered with a host of administrative boobs, some of which have proved costly with big sponsorship deals being lost on some occasions.
