Zimbabwe Saints face ZPC Hwange

ZIMBABWE Saints have a tricky assignment when they travel to ZPC Hwange in a Zifa Southern Region Division One League soccer match in the mining town tomorrow.

Both sides, who are in the top five on the log standings, will be seeking to get maximum points from tomorrow’s encounter after they dropped points in last week’s games.

The former Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions dropped points in last week’s 2-1 loss to league returnees Quelaton while ZPC Hwange were held to a 2-2 draw by new boys Ajax Hotspurs.

The colliery side is on third spot on the log standings with 14 points, having recorded four wins, one loss and two draws while Chikwata are on position five on 10 points with three wins, three losses and a draw.

Highflying Bulawayo Chiefs look set to make it seven wins out of seven games when they host struggling Bulawayo Jumbos in Plumtree.

Chiefs have maintained a 100% winning record after six matches and sit on 18 points at the top of the log standings. Jumbos are third from the bottom on the log table with seven points.

Chiefs, whose technical director is former Warriors and Highlanders championship-winning coach Rahman Gumbo, have one game in hand which they will fulfill against Black Boots on Wednesday.

Second-placed Quelaton will be looking to maintain pressure on the log leaders when they host police side Black Boots at Fair Bridge. Bantu Rovers have a date against Ntabazinduna who are lodged at the bottom of the table on four points.

Rufaro Rovers face Hwange Juniors while Tsholotsho host Technosphere in Tsholotsho.

New West take on newly promoted Mkhosana at the Portuguese Club while Mpumalanga and the unpredictable Ajax Hotspurs clash in Hwange to conclude the weekend fixtures.
