The firm filed an application at the High Court on April 19, 2013 under case number HC2106/13, seeking a default judgment against Zifa after the latter failed to enter an appearance to defend.

In his discovery affidavit, Joel Travel and Tours’ managing director Joshua Shiriyedewe said: “I have in my possession or power documents relating to the matter in question in this suit set forth in the first part and second part of the schedule hereto.

“I object to produce the documents set forth in the second part of the schedule hereto on the groun ds that they are privileged.”

According to the court papers, Zifa entered into a car hiring agreement with Joel Travel and Tours during the period between June last year and February this year.

The firm is said to have offered Zifa the car hiring services at its request and instance.

During the same period Joel Travel and Tours also allegedly supplied Zifa with air tickets at its request and instance thereby accruing a total debt of $31 757, 62.
