TSHWANE — Outgoing South African Premiership football champions Orlando Pirates were on Tuesday handed a tough draw in the African Champions League group stages.

The Buccanners were drawn in Group A along with Egyptian giants Zamalek and Al Ahly as well as Congo club AC Leopards.
First leg matches will be played on the weekend of July 19 to 21.
Al Ahly will start the defence of their Orange Caf Champions League title in the group phase with an away match against fellow countrymen and arch-rivals Zamalek.
For the second year in a row the two Cairo giants have been drawn in the same group.
Last year’s losing finalists, Esperance of Tunisian, have been drawn in Group B alongside Coton Sport of Cameroon, Sewe Sport of Ivory Coast and Recreativo de Libolo of Angola.
