Population Services International (PSI) and SAFAIDS are sponsoring the production that will be directed by award-winning Jason Mphepo. PSI was behind the beginning of Zimbabwe’s first soap, Studio 263.

The soap has a lot in store ranging from the themes of love, hate, prosperity. It is full of energy and this is the reason why we have not decided on the tittle of the soap yet. We are experiencing new things every day,” said Mphepo.

Mphepo has worked on various productions such as the 36 television episodes of Suburb D, a comedy Ghetto Fellaz and New Dawn.

He won the Outstanding Screen Production award at National Arts Merit Awards in 2011 for New Dawn.

Auditions for the new soap were held two weeks ago and over 100 people, including known celebrities, turned up for the trails.

Among the auditioned were Charity Dlodlo who featured in Studio 263 as Mai Maziva and Chipo Bizure who was Eve in the same production.

Hip-hop artiste Tehn Diamond (Tendai Nguni) also showed up for auditions at Patsimeredu Edutainment Trust.

“I am happy to have been invited to be part of the auditions and hope that I will be part of the cast and if I do so I will commit myself to the role,” said Tehn Diamond.
