A 21-YEAR-OLD Kwekwe woman was robbed of her money and cellphone before being raped by two unknown men in a bushy area near Amaveni Stadium last month.

Report by Stephen Chadenga

The two attackers, who are still at large, dragged the woman into a secluded area before taking turns to rape her.

Acting police provincial spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident that occurred late last month, saying the assailants had raped her twice each.

“The woman was walking towards Amaveni Stadium on April 25 and when she approached the Methodist Church two unknown men dragged her to a nearby bush,” he said. “One of them produced a knife, took her cellphone and $20 cash before each of them raped her twice.”

Mahoko said the two assailants allegedly hit the woman with an empty beer bottle and when she fell to the ground the duo fled from the scene.

He said when the woman came to she made a report at Kwekwe police station. Mahoko said the woman was taken to Kwekwe General Hospital for medical examination.

He said police are still investigating the matter.
