KAIZER Chiefs dynamic midfielder Willard Katsande is hot property on the market, according to his agent Edzai Kasinauyo.

The robust player, fresh from a league and cup double with his South African side, might be on his way to Germany, Turkey or Belgium if all goes according to plan.
“We have received offers from clubs in Germany, Turkey and Belgium. I’m not at liberty to divulge the names of the clubs for fear of jeopardising negotiations, but what I can tell you is that a German club is serious about Katsande. The other thing is that this German club might not take him on trials, which is an advantage for him.
“As management, we think his (Katsande) style of play suits the German Bundesliga compared to Turkish or Belgian leagues. He is an aggressive player and the German league is ideal for that kind of player. I should be leaving for Johannesburg on Friday (today) to assess the offers before we come up with a decision,” said Kasinauyo.
The Mutare-born player, one of the best midfielders in Zimbabwe, played as a holding midfielder at the Naturena-based side last season and his coach Stuart Baxter recently described him as the “best central midfielder in the country.”
Baxter said then: “I remember watching Willard Katsande at FNB where we had a friendly match coming into the last 20 minutes when we were leading 2-0 and he made a poor tackle, nearly injuring the opponent badly.
“I thought he was rushing and unreliable, but as the season went on he came out well. He is easily the best central midfielder in the country.”
It would appear his talent might soon be recognised by national team coach Klaus Dieter Pagels’ native country although the Warriors coach has stubbornly resisted conscripting Katsande into the national team. Pagels argues that Katsande does not suit in his tiki-taka type of football that he has introduced.
If he manages to make a breakthrough in Germany, Katsande will become the second Zimbabwean plying trade in that country with striker Knowledge Musona, who ironically joined TSG Hoffeinhem from Kaizer Chiefs.
