Kanhukamwe honoured

HARARE Institute of Technology (HIT) acting vice chancellor Engineer Quinton Kanhukamwe has been awarded the International Socrates Award for personal contribution to the
intellectual development of today’s society by the Europe Business Assembly (EBA).

Kanhukamwe received the award recently in London at the summit of leaders EBA achievements 2013.

EBA director-general, John Netting, said HIT and its acting vice-chancellor were now known outside Zimbabwe due to their participation in scientific, educational and social programmes combined with a successful managerial career.

“We must admit to the successful work of your university in professional, scientific and educational directions,” said Netting.

“These key factors, together with stainless reputation, dynamic growth and sustainable scientific achievements let the Socrates nomination committee to nominate your personality for the international Socrates Prize in the science sphere for maintaining traditional values of virtue, bravery and integrity.”

The International Socrates Awards were established by the Europe Business Assembly (EBA Oxford, United Kingdom) to promote leaders and to strengthen international economic, scientific and cultural relations as well as promoting international integration. The awards are recorded in the world register of outstanding scientists of the 21st Century with awarding a medal of fame for contribution to the world science.

    why don’t you give it shot in politics? maybe your scientific innovativations will be handy. Or carry out a research on “WHY WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY IN THE GOVT WHILST OUR DIAMOND FIELDS ARE THE THIRD LARGEST FIND THIS CENTURY” what do you think doctor Quinton?

    Why is he recognised outside first when he seems to have done much which is known locally?
