The unseeded pair were too good for the wildcard duo of Serb Jelena Jankovic and German Mirjana Lucic-Baroni, winning 6-3 6-0.

They served impressively as was the case in Monday’s first-round win over Frenchwoman Alize Cornet and Italian Francesca Schiavone.

Cara and Erakovic are likely to meet top seeds Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka of Czech Republic who were set to meet the unseeded pair of Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova and Italian Flavia Pennetta yesterday evening.
