According to Soccer Laduma, the Urban Warriors are keen to retain their star player whose contract ends in 2016. The club has reportedly stated that the Zimbabwean forward would not be joining any of the South African sides that had shown interest as they are targeting to sell him to overseas clubs.

The Urban Warriors have slapped a R10 million prize tag on the talented forward who, in January, attracted the interest of cash-rich Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sundowns though are now expected to tie up a deal with fellow Zimbabwean Cuthbert Malajila and have also set their eyes on SuperSport United striker Kermit Erasmus.

Billiat has been one of Ajax’s top performers in the Premier Soccer League this season in their successful fight against relegation and his form has understandably attracted interest.

Media reports had also suggested the Urban Warriors could be persuaded to accept a swap deal involving a player and cash in order to let Billiat go.

However, Ajax CEO George Comitis reportedly explained that they would only agree to sell Billiat overseas should they get the right offer and not to another South African Premiership side. Billiart is also a key member of Zimbabwe’s senior soccer team and is expected to play a major role as Zimbabwe prepare for the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Egypt in Harare next month.

The former Caps United midfielder has previously played for the Young Warriors and was also part of the squad that lost to South Africa in a battle for a place at the All-Africa Games held in Mozambique in 2011.
