Makandiwa, Angel’s spiritual father in Zim

UNITED Family International Church leader Emmanuel Makandiwa and Spirit Embassy’s Uebert Angel Mudzanire’s spiritual father, Ghanaian Victor Kusi Boateng, yesterday arrived in Harare for a three-day spiritual conference which begins tomorrow.

Boateng, who was met at Harare International Airport by Makandiwa, was whisked away in a top-of-the-range Mercedes Benz.

The conference organised by Makandiwa’s UFIC will be held at a site the church is constructing in Chitungwiza.

UFIC spokesperson Prime Kufakunesu said they were overjoyed to have their leader’s spiritual mentor in the country.

“We are grateful for having the great man of God Pastor Victor Kusi Boateng. We are looking forward to a great conference. We are extending an open invitation to whosoever requires transformation,” Kufakunesu said.

“People should come and see for themselves. The best thing is for people to witness for themselves so I am extending an invitation to them.”

          They didnt bow down at the name of boateng. they bowed at the sight. stop twisting this to suit yo opinion. stich to whats on the picture. its not like someone called out Prophet Boateng’s name and everyone bowed. He had to be there physically kuratidza kuti kupfugama kwacho had nothing to do with spiritual thingd (i.e worship) but was physical respect. i thought Zimbas would understand this kupfugama thing better coz you’ve been taught to do it as a sign of respect. but coz some of you have hidden agendas, you make this kneeling thing seem so complicated inorder to push yo agenda.

        Pastor I disagree. When the sons of the prophets meet Elisha, and bowed themselves to the ground before him. Read 2 Kings 2: 12-15 “And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over. And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.”

        The bible disapproves calling someone on earth God or Yahweh or Jehovah.

        Richman read the following about riches and whether God desires us to be rich or to be blessed or not:-

        1. Job 1:1-3 “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.”

        2. God desires His people to be blessed and bless each other. And those that do not bless His people He curses them. Read Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you, but the one who treats you lightly I must curse, and all the families of the earth will bless one another by your name.”

        3. Genesis 13:1-2 “And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.”

        4. Genesis 14:18-20 “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.”

        5. Our Lord’s prayer teaches us that God’s should be done on earth as in Heaven. Read Matthew 6:9-13 ” After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

        6. Heaven is built of what? Read Revelations 21:18 – 21 “And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.”

        7. About Solomon’s riches, read 1 Kings 10:21-25 “And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom. And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.”

        8. The value Solomon put on gold and silver. Read 2 Chronicles 1:15 “The king made silver and gold as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills.”

        9. Money answereth all things. Read Ecclesiastes 10:19 “A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.”

        10. Riches are Spiritual they come from God. Read Proverbs 23:4-5 “Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.”

        11. Obey God’s word and instruction and you will be blessed. Read Deuteronomy 28:1-2 “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.”

        But seek the Kingdom of God first and all things shall be added unto you.

        Riches should be enjoyed by God’s people through what He says and it is biblical.

          Lazarus a righteous man but poor. The rich man was wealthy but went to Hell.

          Jesus was holy and righteos but was poor.

          (Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”)

          The Church in Smyrna was full of righteous people and yet they were poor and were all going throug hard times

          The Church in Laodecia was full of wealthy and filthy rich people but not righteous. The Lord commanded them to repent

          The Word

          I beg to differ that the church to be poor is God’s plan.

          1. When Jesus was anointed at Bethany and Judas protested saying we should have sold the oil and give the money to the poor. Read Matthew 26:10-12 He said, “When Jesus understood it, he said to them, Why trouble you the woman? for she has worked a good work on me. For you have the poor always with you; but me you have not always. For in that she has poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.” And John 12:6 “Judas did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.”

          2. It required the anointing for the gospel to be preached to poor. Read Luke 4:18 – “The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

          3. David says he has never seen a righteous beg or struggle in Psalm 37:25 “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.

          4. God instruction on the Church is clear for the Church to be blessed with wealth. He says in Deuteronomy 8:17-19 “And you say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand has gotten me this wealth. But you shall remember the LORD your God: for it is he that gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. And it shall be, if you do at all forget the LORD your God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.”

          5. God does not promise His Church or His chosen to be poor. He says in Deuteronomy 15:4 – 6 “Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it: Only if you carefully listen to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command you this day. For the LORD your God blesses you, as he promised you: and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; and you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you. “

          Acts 10:25-26 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am a man.”

          Paul was a father to Timothy in the Faith 1 Timothy 1:2. Paul did not claim to be a “Spiritual” father to anyone a non-biblical concept.

          Scripture clearly states that we have only ONE SPIRITUAL FATHER .. God who is Spirit. John 4:24 .

          I am afraid that the scripture you quote(1 Corinthians 4 vs 15) is confusing to many because it seems ambiguous. Yet Paul is cleared distinguishing himself from the One Spiritual Father (GOD) and shows how he can be considered a father through Jesus Christ in the faith. Paul is father in the FAITH to those he brought to the Faith in Jesus Christ. He makes no direct claim to be A Spiritual father!

          Yet even if that scripture you quote were to be interpreted as Paul claiming to be a Spiritual Father nowhere in his conduct did he ever accept or tolerate worship(follows kneeling as a way of honour) since this has been only reserved for God in true Christianity!

          A spiritual father is simply a mentor in spiritual things. They dont replace God, or Jesus or the Holy Spirit. They are simply there to guide u especially where youdont understand spiritual things. for further understanding of this concept, read Paul’s letters in the bible.

          vs14 – I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
          vs15 – For though you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have you not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

          i thought what i quoted was very simple and straight forward. Maybe it looks complicated coz its from the KJV. but to break it down, when someone says i have begotten you, it means they are your father. so here Paul is saying he is a father to those he has preached to. thats why he calls them sons in vs 14. simple nee. moreover, what Paul says here was being said to born again christians so i’m sure it applies to any born again christian. i guess thats why the roman catholics call their spiritual leaders father.

      Hold your horses there. You should take the bible in its intirity and not dwell on one scripture. Because each scripture is written for a specific situation and for a reason. if u run with one scripture so fast, the devil can use the bible against you like he tried to do when he was tempting Jesus and telling him to jump off the tower for the Bible says God will command his angels so that not even yo foot will get hurt. if Jesus didnt know the full word of God, He would have fallen for the devil’s trap. and thats where we lose it as christians. we dont know the bible. we just know a few verses and try to argue based on that.

        in some cultures, bowing down is a way of respecting, just like here in africa, kneeling down is primarily a sign of respect. So there is no hard and fast rule on how u can show respect or how u can worship. its all about yo heart.

Also, I wonder what sort of scriptural discernment a man who is supposed to hear from God has if his wife also called a prophetess fails to dress like a Christian.       Simono look for New Testament examples and get back to us if you find a single one. You won’t and that should begin to tell you something. Most of the examples you gave us are to do with respect to a king and then there is one shoeing respect to a prophet. You won’t find that in the New Testament. In those days God had not poured his Spirit upon all flesh. There were few individuals who had the Spirit of God.

      Paul preached to Timothy and Titus to be born again so that is why Paul refer to them as sons. Anyway, their relationship was more of brothers than father and son. The church of Jesus Christ is not a pyramid. Pyramid structures are in the world. Jesus dealt with those structures. Even Moses understood this. Be careful that you can criticise certain practices in certain churches you are also practising. You might also be having a Pope although you do not call him in the same way. I can give many examples. You might be paying money in order to be rich just as some did to get their sins forgiven. Most of the things you are criticising are rife in your church. Please note that I use the word church loosely. The church in it’s truest sense is not an organisation.

    Dear friends, I do hope you had a wonderful Sabbath and Sunday service this weekend. I had a good one too, though I cannot say I am still proud of the Church in Matebeleland. I want to direct this little conversation to the Church leadership in Matebeleland. I have no doubt that each society is to be judged by the deeds of its elites, or that which they approve to be done. This explains why I direct this opinion piece to Church leaders.

    I am sure most of us are aware of the document called the Zanu Grand Plan. That document has its origins in 1979, and a review was written in 2005 I believe. The document envisages Zimbabgwe as a purely Shona country, with Shona as the only language. That document was even the basis of Gukurahundi.

    Naturally, Shona political elites dispute that they are the ones who authored the document, though interestingly, everything we see happening in this country is exactly according to the script of that document. For example, the document says Shona shall be the national language; Shonas shall be preferred in allocation of jobs, especially in the public service, land shall preferably be given to the Shona, priority in giving out of loans shall be given to the Shona, etc. We see all this happening today. Interestingly Dr Dumiso Dabengwa recently pointed out that the document is a Zanu pf creation. I shall not go into the details of the document than refer the reader to the link here

    What I want to point out is that Church leaders in Matebeleland, especially in the Pentecostal movement, have become complicit in this evil agenda of Shona political elites. Sunday in Sunday out one witnesses hundreds of churches where Shona is now the de facto official language. From songs to announcements to sermons, Shona is now cast as an ‘official language’. It is uncommon to always find out that out of say seven songs sang in the service, five are Shona, perhaps one English, with only one Ndebele, and rarely ever in Kalanga, Sotho, Venda, Tonga, etc. What really is it that has happened to our leaders?

    Yes, I know the Bible calls us to love. But isn’t the same Bible calling us to justice, to free the oppressed? Wasn’t it our Lord Jesus’s mission to free the oppressed and captive? I know some will say language isn’t important. Really? If the Shonalization of my region disadvantages the learning of my children, is that just? If Shona public officers fail to effectively serve my people due to the language barrier, is that just? If my people are denied jobs and the jobs are allocated to Shonas, is that just? In any case, is disrespecting my language, identity and culture just and fair? Wasn’t it the Apostle Paul who declared that with God there is no favouritism, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, Greek no Schist? Wasn’t it John the Revelator who stated that at the end of human history he saw people of all languages, cultures and identities gathered before the throne of God? What makes you think my language should be there too?

    If the Church leaders of Matebeleland are collaborating with the evil agenda of political elites, which I call ‘Shonalization’ or ‘Gukurahundism’, what makes them think we like fellowship in their churches? I may not agree with the doctrinal positions of the Roman Catholic Church, but surely they always stand for justice, fairness and equality, and I support that. Let me also applaud Brethren in Christ, Assemblies of God, London Missionary Society, Methodist, and the Zion, Apostolic and other so-called mainline Churches for siding with the people of Matebeleland in their struggle for justice, fairness and equality. Major pentecostal churches like Pentecostal Assemblies of Zimbabwe (PAOZ), Family of God (FOG), Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA), Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) and others have lost the plot.

    Their gospel is now that of giving and receiving, prosperity, healing, bling bling, etc. Rarely if ever will one ever hear a sermon on justice and equality. Yes, I know I am touching raw nerves here, but let’s face it, in a liberal and democratic society that we all want to build there are no taboo topics. All topics have to be discussed for the sake of peace, unity, justice and fairness. Suppressing difficult topics will only lead to ferment and fusion of tempers which will only explode on us at some future point with destruction of atomic proportions. Let us not forget that Rwanda was regarded as almost 100% Christian, and yet that did not stop the murder of about 800,000 people in 100 days!
    It pains my heart to see that Church leaders in Matebeleland allow Shona to take over our region as the official language of their churches. Is this by design or by mistake? Or is it sheer cowardice on their part? Should we be terrorized by Shona speaking police officers on our roads; Shona public officers at our government offices and borders; Shona teachers incapacitating the learning of our children in the schools; etc, only to go through the same in our Sabbath and Sunday services in Church? Isn’t the church supposed to be the most just and fair of all places in the world?

    Matebeleland Church leaders I am ashamed of you. I ask you, which side are you standing on? The side of the oppressed or the oppressor? Yes, I know ministry can’t be led by tribal affiliation. But why do you allow the more prevalent use of Shona in our churches while in Mashonaland the same can’t be allowed? Or are you saying Shonas are so important they need to be accommodated and taken care of, but our people are less important so they can always sit in Shona speaking churches and be ministered to in Shona? Why, why, why? Am I being emotional about these issues? Yes! We cannot fail to be emotional when our rights and freedoms are daily trampled upon and the Church becomes complicit in an evil and genocidal agenda. No wonder why churches like PAOZ, FOG, ZAOGA, AFM, etc are filling their ranks with Shonas, for it seems they are there to carter for Shonas.

    It surely wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that these churches have become outposts of Shona imperialism and tyranny just like our universities, police stations and government offices. What makes these churches think that people of Matebeleland love to come and praise God in a language associated with the pains of Gukurahundi? Isn’t this the same language that was used to bayonet our pregnant women who were accused of giving birth to dissidents? Isn’t this the same language that people were forced to sing in whilst dancing on the shallow graves of their loved ones? Isn’t this the same language that saved people from the guns of the 5th Brigade? Why now should we be asked to use the same language more than our own in our Sabbath and Sunday services? Or does God only understand Shona in Zimbabgwe? Yes, these are painful questions, but we need to ask them.

    Am I being tribalistic? I know this is what some will say. But who is a tribalist he who fights for their rights and freedoms and one who is oppressing the freedoms and rights of others? Who is a tribalist I, a Kalanga, fighting to have my language used in education, the media and government, the Church, and the one suppressing that? The tribalists are those who suppress the languages, culture and identity of others. And Matebeleland church leaders, you have become complicit in the agenda of tribalism, a.k.a. Gukurahundism or Shonalization. And that is shameful. Not only so, it is sinful!
    Mube mandiwha wali papa. Ee, lebeswa mowonditi bugalimoyo gwangu agute guli hhele, kakale mowoti anditomulemekedza, koga lebeswa atingaletje lileba. Ndomusiyila matama awa enlebesambeli Amos anoti:

    “I can’t stand your religious meetings. I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions. I want nothing to do with your religion projects, your pretentious slogans and goals. I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes, your public relations and image making. I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music. When was the last time you sang to me? Do you know what I want? I want justice – oceans of it. I want fairness – rivers of it. That’s what I want. That’s all I want” (Amos 5: 21-24, Message).

    I am a born again Christian who loves God and the message of the cross. Dear beloved there is only one Father, who is God in heaven!!!! Why do we have a spiritual father in another man? The truth of the matter is that a person is flesh and spirit. Now if a someone is now my spiritual Father so does it now mean that God is my fleshly Father? The spirit is subject unto God and when Christ departed he left us the Holy Ghost who is ours to have, i have nothing against anyone but when someone is pseudo-worshiped like this i think we are losing the point!!!
    This spiritual Father business to me is outright idol worship and i think to say someone is my mentor is enough!!!

Zimbos do away with “rumour and hearsay” syndrome. Most of you have never attended even one service at UFIC church but you are masters in talking about what happens there. Most of you have never give their monies to this great Man of God but you complain that he is robbing people. Even us the congregants, we have never asked you to complain on our behalf.       Dear friends, I do hope you had a wonderful Sabbath and Sunday service this weekend. I had a good one too, though I cannot say I am still proud of the Church in Matebeleland. I want to direct this little conversation to the Church leadership in Matebeleland. I have no doubt that each society is to be judged by the deeds of its elites, or that which they approve to be done. This explains why I direct this opinion piece to Church leaders.

      I am sure most of us are aware of the document called the Zanu Grand Plan. That document has its origins in 1979, and a review was written in 2005 I believe. The document envisages Zimbabgwe as a purely Shona country, with Shona as the only language. That document was even the basis of Gukurahundi.

      Naturally, Shona political elites dispute that they are the ones who authored the document, though interestingly, everything we see happening in this country is exactly according to the script of that document. For example, the document says Shona shall be the national language; Shonas shall be preferred in allocation of jobs, especially in the public service, land shall preferably be given to the Shona, priority in giving out of loans shall be given to the Shona, etc. We see all this happening today. Interestingly Dr Dumiso Dabengwa recently pointed out that the document is a Zanu pf creation. I shall not go into the details of the document than refer the reader to the link here

      What I want to point out is that Church leaders in Matebeleland, especially in the Pentecostal movement, have become complicit in this evil agenda of Shona political elites. Sunday in Sunday out one witnesses hundreds of churches where Shona is now the de facto official language. From songs to announcements to sermons, Shona is now cast as an ‘official language’. It is uncommon to always find out that out of say seven songs sang in the service, five are Shona, perhaps one English, with only one Ndebele, and rarely ever in Kalanga, Sotho, Venda, Tonga, etc. What really is it that has happened to our leaders?

      Yes, I know the Bible calls us to love. But isn’t the same Bible calling us to justice, to free the oppressed? Wasn’t it our Lord Jesus’s mission to free the oppressed and captive? I know some will say language isn’t important. Really? If the Shonalization of my region disadvantages the learning of my children, is that just? If Shona public officers fail to effectively serve my people due to the language barrier, is that just? If my people are denied jobs and the jobs are allocated to Shonas, is that just? In any case, is disrespecting my language, identity and culture just and fair? Wasn’t it the Apostle Paul who declared that with God there is no favouritism, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, Greek no Schist? Wasn’t it John the Revelator who stated that at the end of human history he saw people of all languages, cultures and identities gathered before the throne of God? What makes you think my language should be there too?

      If the Church leaders of Matebeleland are collaborating with the evil agenda of political elites, which I call ‘Shonalization’ or ‘Gukurahundism’, what makes them think we like fellowship in their churches? I may not agree with the doctrinal positions of the Roman Catholic Church, but surely they always stand for justice, fairness and equality, and I support that. Let me also applaud Brethren in Christ, Assemblies of God, London Missionary Society, Methodist, and the Zion, Apostolic and other so-called mainline Churches for siding with the people of Matebeleland in their struggle for justice, fairness and equality. Major pentecostal churches like Pentecostal Assemblies of Zimbabwe (PAOZ), Family of God (FOG), Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA), Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) and others have lost the plot.

      Their gospel is now that of giving and receiving, prosperity, healing, bling bling, etc. Rarely if ever will one ever hear a sermon on justice and equality. Yes, I know I am touching raw nerves here, but let’s face it, in a liberal and democratic society that we all want to build there are no taboo topics. All topics have to be discussed for the sake of peace, unity, justice and fairness. Suppressing difficult topics will only lead to ferment and fusion of tempers which will only explode on us at some future point with destruction of atomic proportions. Let us not forget that Rwanda was regarded as almost 100% Christian, and yet that did not stop the murder of about 800,000 people in 100 days!
      It pains my heart to see that Church leaders in Matebeleland allow Shona to take over our region as the official language of their churches. Is this by design or by mistake? Or is it sheer cowardice on their part? Should we be terrorized by Shona speaking police officers on our roads; Shona public officers at our government offices and borders; Shona teachers incapacitating the learning of our children in the schools; etc, only to go through the same in our Sabbath and Sunday services in Church? Isn’t the church supposed to be the most just and fair of all places in the world?

      Matebeleland Church leaders I am ashamed of you. I ask you, which side are you standing on? The side of the oppressed or the oppressor? Yes, I know ministry can’t be led by tribal affiliation. But why do you allow the more prevalent use of Shona in our churches while in Mashonaland the same can’t be allowed? Or are you saying Shonas are so important they need to be accommodated and taken care of, but our people are less important so they can always sit in Shona speaking churches and be ministered to in Shona? Why, why, why? Am I being emotional about these issues? Yes! We cannot fail to be emotional when our rights and freedoms are daily trampled upon and the Church becomes complicit in an evil and genocidal agenda. No wonder why churches like PAOZ, FOG, ZAOGA, AFM, etc are filling their ranks with Shonas, for it seems they are there to carter for Shonas.

      It surely wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that these churches have become outposts of Shona imperialism and tyranny just like our universities, police stations and government offices. What makes these churches think that people of Matebeleland love to come and praise God in a language associated with the pains of Gukurahundi? Isn’t this the same language that was used to bayonet our pregnant women who were accused of giving birth to dissidents? Isn’t this the same language that people were forced to sing in whilst dancing on the shallow graves of their loved ones? Isn’t this the same language that saved people from the guns of the 5th Brigade? Why now should we be asked to use the same language more than our own in our Sabbath and Sunday services? Or does God only understand Shona in Zimbabgwe? Yes, these are painful questions, but we need to ask them.

      Am I being tribalistic? I know this is what some will say. But who is a tribalist he who fights for their rights and freedoms and one who is oppressing the freedoms and rights of others? Who is a tribalist I, a Kalanga, fighting to have my language used in education, the media and government, the Church, and the one suppressing that? The tribalists are those who suppress the languages, culture and identity of others. And Matebeleland church leaders, you have become complicit in the agenda of tribalism, a.k.a. Gukurahundism or Shonalization. And that is shameful. Not only so, it is sinful!
      Mube mandiwha wali papa. Ee, lebeswa mowonditi bugalimoyo gwangu agute guli hhele, kakale mowoti anditomulemekedza, koga lebeswa atingaletje lileba. Ndomusiyila matama awa enlebesambeli Amos anoti:

I want justice – oceans of it. I want fairness – rivers of it. That’s what I want. That’s all I want” (Amos 5: 21-24, Message).

    In this modern day Christianity we run the danger of panel beating scripture to suit terms we coin for ourselves and bend the bible to our own ends. Common catch phrases are thrown about that sound “swaggy” and nice in modern Christendom but have no biblical foundation except scriptures deliberately twisted or quoted out of context.

    For instance, the gospel which means the good news, and the good news of SALVATION has been replaced with what is termed PROSPERITY gospel. Are there now 2 Gospels? There is only but one Gospel and that of the Salvation brought about by God’s mercy and the obedience and love of our lord Jesus Christ. Prosperity should remain a teaching like, faith, tithing, prayer , fasting etc. To make it a Gospel or THE Gospel is to serve other ulterior motives other than preach Christ and Christ crucified!

    The next misnomer and “swaggy” term is that of Spiritual Fathers. Let us get this very clear.
    1) God is Spirit John 4:24
    2) When we accept Christ we become Children of God by his will and Spirit. (John 1:13)
    3) God Our Father who is Spirit adopts us as his Spiritual sons and imbues us with His Spirit (Romans 8:9-16)
    4) Because we are born of the Spirit of God we are brothers to Christ himself. (Hebrews 2:11,12,17)
    5) The devil is a Spirit, hence he is a spiritual father to those that follow him (John 8:44)
    6) Paul, John did refer to themselves as “Fathers”(1 Timothy 1:2) (1 John 2:12)

    It can be seen that God is Spirit , the devil is a spirit, the fallen angels are spirits and the faithful angels are spirits. We become the children of God by accepting Christ and receiving God’s Spirit hence we are the Children of God. However if we reject him and are enticed by the devil , we inherit the Devil’s spirit and become his Spiritual children However Christ who was made to be like us , does not call himself our Spiritual father because he himself has the Spirit of the Father and hence he calls us brothers!!

    We have biological or fathers in the flesh and we inherit from them our biological make up and not their spirits.

    But what Paul and John , the apostles who adopted the Father figure. It is vital to understand the
    distinction that Paul makes when he refers himself as a Father. The clearest claim of his fatherly role is well indicated in the following verse.

    “Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord ” 1 Timothy 1:2

    Paul qualifies himself as a Father to Timothy in the FAITH! that is far from claiming to be a Spiritual father! Why because Paul is not a spirit! but has a spirit! The same spirit Jesus and every true christian has, that is the Spirit of the ONE and ONLY Spiritual Father, God the Father.

    But what about 1 Corinthians 4: 15.
    What exactly does the scripture say? here is King James Version(the most widely accepted)

    “For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.” 1 Corinthian 4:15

    Again it can be seen that Paul does not make any claim to be a “Spiritual Father” but rather a father in the Gospel, a father in the faith! He makes no conjecture of passing his own spirit to anyone and becoming their spiritual father!.

    But has man passed his own spirit to another? Yes the bible tells us of this. The spirit of Elijah was transferred to Elisha, 2 Kings 2:9-15 The Spirit of Samuel was summoned onto a spirit medium 1 Samuel 28: 7-15. . John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah Luke 1:13-17 . What does that mean?

    First it is worth to note all these events come before the manifestation of Christ on earth. When Christ came, those that accept him become the Sons of God himself by his Spirit. The barrier is gone and there is no need for anyone to inherit a human Spirit since God himself adopts those that accept Christ nor do we hear anymore of anyone receiving any Spirit except the Holy Spirit!

    It can be concluded therefore that as Christians and brothers of Christ we have but one Spiritual Father , God the Father. And we have fathers in the faith , those who responsibility is to nature us in the faith. They and us both have the Spirit of our One true Spiritual Father who is the living, Almighty God The Father!

    To claim to be the spiritual son of any man is claim to have that person’s spirit and who knows what that might be!

      Spiritual mentorship is found both in the Old Testament and New Testament.
      We all know that Timothy was a servant of God hence two books (Letters) are dedicated to him but instead of him seeking direct mentorship from God, he submitted to Paul’s anointing and teachings and Paul had the audacity to tell all & sundry that it was him (Paul) who imparted the prophetic gift on Paul. Because of his submission, Timothy became Paul’s spiritual son in faith (1 Timothy 1:2).
      Another notable God’s servant Titus, though called into ministry by God, he submitted to Paul and hence became another son in faith to Paul hence he wrote him a letter “To Titus, my true son in our common faith” Timothy 1:4. Paul fully aware that the church and some other pastors would find it very difficult to accept another spiritual son of his; he had to explain to them again in a letter on how one by the name Onesimus came to be his spiritual son. In times of great need, in times of trouble and persecution, when the church was throwing him out of the church, when his prophetic gift was being suppressed, that’s when Paul realised that, despite the presence of God, he needed to have spiritual sons to support him and hence his explanation and plea to church members.
      “I appeal to you to show kindness to my son, Onesimus. I became his father in the faith while here in prison” Philemon verse 10. To an ordinary church member, it’s really confusing how on earth, a grown up man like Onesimus, all of a sudden from nowhere just became Paul’s son and yet Paul never got married, but circumstances will prove to you that as much as God is the ultimate end, Elisha will need Elijah’s anointing, Paul must lay his hands on Timothy for him to prophesy, “This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you” 2 Timothy 1:6. God knew it that Timothy was born to be a prophet but he only started to prophesy when Paul laid hands on him.
      Titus was a son to Paul unto common faith read Titus 1:1 to 4 “Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.”
      I know the scripture you refer to where our Lord Jesus said “Do not call anyone on Earth Father”. This he was referring to God as even literally taken would have meant you can call your biological father my father.”
      This concept is illustrated in 2 Kings 6 when the sons of the prophets came to Elisha looking for his blessing to go build a bigger dwelling by the river. The sons of the prophets, wanted to build their own place, but they wanted their spiritual father to go with them in case they needed him. When the young prophet lost his axe head in the river they turned to Elisha for some insight. That axe head as a symbol of strength, passion and the first love. Elisha was able to help the young prophet retrieve what was lost.
      2 Kings 2:5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
      For Elisha to perform and possess Elijah’s anointing he had to call him his father read 2 Kings 2:8 to 15 “And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground. And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over. And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.”
      Sometimes would-be sons resist sonship, most notably the correction that come with the relationship. However, fathers who refuse to correct their sons will lose their sons as Eli lost his (1 Samuel 2:34; 4:11). And the Bible clearly states that those who will not receive correction will become bastards (Hebrews 12:8). “If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?”

Also when the Angel visited John in Revelations 19:10 John fell down to kneel and he was commanded by the angel that see that you do it not for I am a fellow servant like you worship God only. There is no place in the bible where we have seen this kneeling business.If its done in the name of Jesus its wrong but if you are doing it just in the social realms better continue. Philipians 2:10 tells us that its only on the name of Jesus that in these last days every knee shall bow. My fellow countrymen come up higher and be sons and daughters of God who eat the book.
