A CELEBRATION has been lined up for Sulumani Chimbetu’s 31st birthday.

The artist, who turns 31 today, will celebrate with the fans at the Sing Along gig on Friday.
With Oliver Mtukudzi, Alick Macheso, Jah Prayzah and Sulu, the gig itself should have a number of climaxes for the music-loving public.
This would be one of the rare occasions that Macheso and Sulu will perform on the same stage after their famous fall-out caused by defection of band members. Aside from the “Big 4 or 5” gigs, this will be another rare occasion that the cream of local music performers play on one stage.
For the “birthday boy”, Sulu, it has become the norm to throw big parties as evidenced by his “all white parties” and a string of other bashes.
But according to his management, this time it has more to do with the fans. “We will have a giant Dendera/hornbill cake that will be shared with fans,” Joe Nyamungoma, Sulu’s public relations manager, said.
He said the event would also be taken as a celebration for the recent award that Sulu won at the Harare International Carnival.
